This webinar will provide school leaders, English leads and teaching staff in early years with an understanding of how to build and develop children’s spoken language effectively in line with the DfE’s reformed Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework and supportive curriculum guidance.

The DfE’s revised EYFS Framework will become statutory for all schools in September 2021. Early adopter schools are already adhering to the framework, supported by the recent DfE ‘Development Matters’ curriculum guidance, which sets out the pathways of children’s development, including communication and language.

In this webinar, Megan Dixon, a specialist literacy teacher, consultant and trainer who has worked closely with the EEF and on an advisory basis for the DfE and Ofsted, explores how schools can prepare for the new EYFS reforms in order to build cognitive development, extend vocabulary and culture a language-rich environment.
