For: Headteachers, senior leaders, governors and trustees

Aim: This webinar will provide you with advice and practical guidance on converting to an academy, including the implications for your college, the application and decision-making processes, and the extra requirements for sixth form colleges designated as having a religious character, aligned with updated DfE guidance.

Rationale: On 2 February 2023, the DfE published ‘Becoming a 16 to 19 academy: advice for sixth form colleges’, which explains what colleges need to know and do in preparation for conversion. The opportunity for conversion to academy status has continued to be made available beyond the end of the area review programme in March 2019, “with the vision to drive up educational standards across the system”.
