For: School and college leaders, mental health leads

Aim: This webinar will offer practical guidance to mental health leads in schools and colleges around the language to use with children and young people for encouraging open conversations around mental health and wellbeing, which in turn will allow for planning and action based on the needs of the school or college.

Rationale: Human beings thrive in communities. When people have healthy connections – such as in family and friendship groups – it supports our mental wellbeing. When our need for rewarding social interaction isn’t being met, however, it can cause us to feel lonely and isolated – negatively impacting our state of mind. Children’s Mental Health Week 2023 runs from 6–12 February and this year’s theme is ‘Let’s Connect’: helping youngsters to make meaningful, positive connections.
