Bullying has blighted childhoods all over the world throughout the centuries - but now, digital technology makes it possible for someone to be targeted at any time of day or night, and even in their own home. In this short video, Myleene Klass explains how cyber-bullying has changed the landscape ... and how we can help to protect children and young people from it.

Online bullying, or cyberbullying, describes bullying that is enabled by technology. If the bullying behaviour is on the internet in any form, it is classed as cyberbullying.

Online bullying can increase anxiety or depression and leave children and young people with low self-esteem and low self-confidence. In some cases, it can lead to self-harm or more extreme thoughts about their own life.

That’s why it’s so important that trusted adults keep an open dialogue with children and young people and encourage them to report any incidents that are worrying.

This webinar is presented by broadcaster and online safety advocate Myleene Klass. Its content has been developed in collaboration with our expert Heather Cardwell, a practising online safety lead who is CE-OP (Child Exploitation Online Protection) trained.
