Advertisements and promotions are a feature of modern life, including for children. In the UK, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) states that all adverts must be “legal, decent, honest and truthful”, including those online. However, in truth, as advertising becomes more targeted, even those which meet the ASA criteria can be extremely influential, persuasive or even manipulative.

In this webinar, Dr Raffaello Rossi, lecturer in marketing and researcher who has published various papers recognised at national and international level, will explore the nature of social media marketing, how to recognise persuasive behaviour and practical tips on avoiding social media advertisement.
