The pandemic has only served to widen the attainment gap. The DfE’s ‘Understanding Progress in the 2020/21 Academic Year’reports that, as a result of school closures, the learning loss for disadvantaged pupils at primary level was on average 0.5 months more in reading and 0.7 months more in mathematics in comparison with their peers.

In this webinar, Amjad Ali, experienced SENCO, senior leader and education trainer, explains how schools can put in place effective scaffolding support to help reverse the trend, enabling the most disadvantaged pupils access the same curriculum content and academic opportunities as their peers.
