This webinar will provide headteachers, senior leaders, governors and trustees with advice and practical guidance on how educational settings should observe the period of National Mourning, and arrangements for the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

On 9 September 2022, the DfE published National mourning advisory education guidance, which provides education and childcare settings with an explanation of National Mourning, and practical advice on how they may wish to observe the period and commemorate Her Majesty with appropriate events. At the same time, the government published ‘National mourning guidance’ which provides further information.

In this webinar, John Rees, RSHE subject matter expert with over 25 years’ educational leadership experience, will highlight the salient points of the DfE guidance, and explain how childcare and education establishments can adjust provision in observance of National Mourning and prepare for the day of the state funeral.
