Learning through Landscapes

Learning through Landscapes is an outdoor learning and play charity which helps children and young people to connect with nature, become more active, learn outdoors and have fun.

Learning through Landscapes’ transformation of school grounds and teacher training programmes, alongside an unrivalled knowledge and expertise gained through practical action and research, have earned it a reputation as the UK’s leading school grounds educational charity. While still predominantly focusing on the education sector, their know-how has also been applied to a number of fields, including dementia care, working with young homeless people and species conservation.

Informed by three decades of experience, Learning through Landscapes’ approach is guided by six core values and six principles for outdoor learning and play. Their vision is for a society in which the benefits of regular time outdoors are valued and appreciated – and outdoor learning, play and a connection with nature are recognised as fundamental parts of education, at every stage, for every child and young person.

With offices in England and Scotland and staff based across the UK, their team and accredited network of outdoor learning experts has the capacity to work both nationally and internationally.
