Healthy Schools Service
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Healthy Schools Service is commissioned by Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council. The service comprises of a network of quality assured, local partner organisations that work in collaboration to provide lesson resources, training, and focused events on a wide range of health themes. Some of these themes include physical activity, healthy eating, mental health, keeping safe, and relationships.
The Healthy Schools Service also facilitates the delivery of multi-agency projects, developed in response to identified needs, many of which are free of charge. One such project is the school-based smoking and vaping programme for young people called ‘Catch Your Breath’. The aim of this programme is to embed a proactive and coordinated approach amongst both the primary and secondary schools to discourage smoking and vaping behaviour.
