Sian Bates

Sian Bates has been the Assistant Headteacher at Trenance Learning Academy in Newquay for two years, having previously been a class teacher there for seven years. She recently completed her NPQ in Leading Literacy and continues to share her knowledge with the wider school.

As Reading Leader at Trenance, Sian enthusiastically supports the delivery of oracy across the school (which is an accredited Oracy Centre of Excellence, as well as having an attached English Hub and Teaching School Hub). She is deeply invested in ensuring that Trenance not only provides a strong education but also contributes to developing its wider community – ensuring that pupils can enjoy a life of options and possibilities.
