Sarah Billingham
Sarah Billingham is a SLCN teacher who runs the organisation Confident Kids, a specialist advisory service. Sarah equips parents and practitioners with expert knowledge and the practical tools they need to offer children with communication needs the very best support they can. Confident Kids currently supports mainstream, special, and specialist schools with understanding the communication and self-regulation needs of the children and implementing appropriate supports for the students through staff training and coaching.
Sarah previously worked for Speech and Language UK. Her roles included running their multi-disciplinary assessment service, where she worked collaboratively with educational psychologists, speech and language and occupational therapists, and as assistant headteacher of their specialist primary school for children with SLCN.
Sarah has also had experience of leading an additionally resourced provision for children with SLCN, has contributed as a guest expert on a number of podcasts, and is a Regional Makaton Tutor.
