Richard Valentine Waite

Richard Valentine Waite is an early childhood technology and online safety adviser with over 35 years’ experience in early childhood education. His mission is to enrich children's lives through the use of early years technology, as well as protect them through online safety. His vision extends beyond digital devices, embracing a wide array of interactive toys and resources and adapting a STEAM approach to learning where all the sciences are integrated into one framework. He believes that introducing STEAM into the early years ensures the science subjects are gender neutral, where girls as well as boys can be prepared for the computational and scientific world ahead. 

Richard completed an NNEB nursery nursing course in 1986, leading to a BSc Honours in Education and Information Management and an NNEB Diploma. He has worked in electronics and food retail and held various roles from educator to acting manager and ICT coordinator for a large nursery group.
