Neil Almond
Neil Almond is an experienced education researcher, teacher and curriculum expert with a strong background in evidence informed practice and assessment. Neil has spoken at several ResearchED events, including presenting on subjects such as the application of Cognitive Load Theory in the primary maths classroom, the importance of a knowledge-explicit curriculum along with principles of curriculum design.
Neil has contributed a chapter to the ResearchED series of books and has written a chapter on curriculum design in the ResearchED Guide to the Curriculum. He has also worked with schools on developing their curriculum provision. Neil’s research interests lie in educational psychology, pedagogical content knowledge, reading, mathematics and developing effective instruction.
He has previously worked as a music, history and geography lead. He tweets regularly at @Mr_AlmondED and also blogs at Mr_AlmondED – Mr Almond: Nuts About Teaching.
