Lorna Taylor is a leading expert in occupational health, particularly in relation to the wellness and safety of the early years and primary workforce. As the UK Ambassador of ENETOSH (European Network: Education Training in Occupational Safety and Health), she remains at the forefront of the latest knowledge, innovative thinking and practical advice – particularly around low-height working in early years and primary environments.

Lorna began her career as a children’s physiotherapist in schools, hospitals and community settings. Informed and inspired by these experiences, in 2009 she founded Jolly Back – a business which aims to improve the working life, health and comfort of early years and primary professionals by helping them avoid musculoskeletal injuries through ergonomic seating and furniture solutions, backed up by authoritative advice. The company has supported organisations including multi-academy Trusts, specialist SEND schools, nursery groups and NHS therapy departments, among many others.

Aside from her consultancy and training provision, Lorna is a published researcher and visiting lecturer on the University of Derby’s Childhood Studies and Primary Education degree courses, where her work focuses on musculoskeletal health, and the prevention and reduction of musculoskeletal disorders. She has also been involved in creating collaborative guidance on musculoskeletal disorders with the Early Years Alliance and the National Education Union, with input from the Health and Safety Executive.
