Professional Status, Kat Learner has significant experience as a quality development
manager, professional development consultant, teacher, SENCO and SEND teacher
in charge at a special support centre for children aged 3 to 5 who have speech,
language and communication disorders and delays. She has a love of learning and

In her current role as Training and Professional
Development Manager at a large nursery group, Kat leads on apprenticeships, CPD
and the professional growth of practitioners and leaders. She believes that
early years practitioners can have a transformational impact on children,
families and colleagues, and is committed to providing learning opportunities
that have a tangible impact. Kat achieves this engaging and empowering early
years teams to identify such openings that are practical and meaningful – both to
practitioners and to the children and families that they support.
Kat is also a Gallup-certified CliftonStrengths Coach who
feels that focusing on an individual’s strengths is important for wellbeing,
success and fulfilment. She coaches individuals and teams to thrive by celebrating
their abilities and being able to recognise and appreciate the talents of
others. Kat encourages teams to utilise this approach when supporting children –
so that little ones feel special and cherished, with plenty of opportunities to
play, explore their interests and develop their strengths.
