Joe Smith

Joe is an international, award-winning Chartered Structural Engineer with expertise in delivering the structural engineering designs of complex mixed-use, education, healthcare, industrial, commercial, and residential developments throughout the UK and internationally. He has a passion for providing high-quality and economical structural solutions, and is a Board Director for Waterman Structures Limited, where he has responsibility for the Regional Structural Teams.

Joe has diagnosed and developed remedial measures for dangerous and derelict buildings across the UK. He advises private and public sector clients on how to manage dilapidated or unsafe structures, including buildings with historic construction techniques. He is also the author of ‘The Blueprint for Project Speed’, reflecting on the Jersey General Hospital Nightingale Wing project (delivered in a record breaking four weeks), which is a practical guide to speeding up design and construction.
