Jane is a Qualified Teacher for Vision Impairment (QTVI) with over 20 years’ experience, currently working in RNIB’s education team. She brings her commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people with vision impairment to her present role through planning and delivering training to VI education professionals, supporting families and education professionals with individual queries, and contributing to campaigns and policy work. 

She is involved in the project to implement the Curriculum Framework for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (CFVI), which supports children and young people with VI to access an appropriate and equitable education. Prior to working for RNIB, Jane worked as a QTVI for her local authority VI team both in a secondary resource base for VI in a mainstream school and as a peripatetic teacher supporting primary, secondary, and post-16 learners. She is especially interested in assistive technology, access to STEM subjects, and modification of resources into accessible formats.
