Jane Coburn

In 2020, Jane started her own consulting/coaching business, and is passionate about helping parents, educators and employers learn about autism and ways to accept and honour neurodiversity, reframing behaviour as adaptive communication, and supporting neurodiverse individuals to create a life they want. She encourages people to listen to the neurodiverse person and follow their lead, rather than try to change them or make them conform to societal expectations.

With over 30 years’ professional experience and as the mother of two autistic adult sons, Jane has a vast knowledge of resources, experience accessing systems and advocating within those systems, and has learned to think outside the box to help individuals and organizations tap into their full potential.

Jane graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counselling, and is a qualified intellectual disability professional, consultant to Jackson County Schools and Cherokee Central Schools, and advisory board member, Project INTERACT, Western Carolina University.
