Fiona Blake

Fiona Blake is a Year 4 teacher at Ilsham C of E Academy and has been part of that trust for 6 years. After working as cabin crew and later consulting on the environment for oil and gas exploration companies, she started a degree in psychology at the age of 40. It wasn’t long before Fiona began to struggle in her studies and she was diagnosed with dyslexia the following year.

The diagnosis piqued her interest in children’s development and education. At the age of 45, she completed a PGCE in the hope she could support children with additional needs in a way that she hadn’t been able to experience herself as a child.
