Evelyn Kerrigan Lebloch

Since setting up as a consultant in 2019, Evelyn Kerrigan Lebloch has supported senior management teams in several organisations to strengthen their safeguarding arrangements, providing bespoke specialist services according to need. Examples of work undertaken during this period of consultancy include conducting organisational safeguarding assurance reviews; producing safeguarding technical procedures, guidance, and tools; developing, and delivering safeguarding training (from all staff, basic and essential to leadership culture and due diligence for boards of trustees); and managing, conducting and/or supporting PSEAH (sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) investigations, child protection investigations and case reviews. 

For a period of 9 months (2021/22), Evelyn provided interim cover for the role of Director of Safeguarding for Save the Children UK on a job-share basis. Key responsibilities included: developing an organisational safeguarding strategy and review of safeguarding policy framework; safeguarding risk management; coordinating response to national inquiry recommendations; briefing the Board of Trustees; team management; working collaboratively with Save the Children International affiliates on safeguarding matters; and chairing cross-departmental senior management meetings on the integration of safeguarding into relevant business functions. 

From 2013 – 2019, Evelyn worked at the British Council as Deputy Global Head of Child Protection. Her responsibilities included: co-management of the Global Child Protection Team; design and implementation of a child abuse prevention and response system; investigations of abuse allegations against staff and third parties in most regions of the world; global case management audits, complex data mapping and historic case reviews in preparation for a major child abuse inquiry; design and delivery of bespoke training on ‘organisational dangerousness’ to develop culture change and leadership accountability; design and delivery of child protection and safeguarding training with adaptation for global delivery; and provided professional supervision and mentoring to regional child protection managers.
