Dr Emma Rogers

Emma Rogers is an experienced literacy and learning expert. She is a Senior Lecturer at Lincoln Bishop University where she contributes to a range of programmes within Teacher Development, including undergraduate ITT and master's courses in Education and Children's Literacies. Emma has previously worked as a learning and literacy consultant offering professional development packages and training to teachers, schools, networks and local authorities aiming to develop children’s learning and achievement in English. She worked for several years for the Primary National Strategies leading the successful Every Child a Writer programme and has developed languages curricula and assessment guidance in over 150 countries. She has previously worked as a classroom teacher and senior school leader and in 2018, she became a Fellow of the Higher Education Association. She gained her PhD in 2024 with a thesis focusing on reader identity and the links between reading history and reading pedagogies.
