Emma Lloyd

Emma is the Director of SEND at Learning Academies (TiLA), which serves communities in the North and South of Bristol in areas of significant disadvantage. Emma works with passionate headteachers, SENCOs, and staff to build capacity and ensure every child or young person can reach their full potential, regardless of barriers. Emma offers support for SEND to other schools and settings and works closely with a range of partners to improve outcomes for children across the city of Bristol.

Emma has worked for Bristol City Council as an Interim Head of Services and Virtual School Headteacher. This involved line-managing virtual school attendance and belonging. Emma was responsible for rolling out Bristol’s Ordinarily Available Provision to settings across the city. Emma has also worked as a SEND School Improvement Officer, a Regional Implementation Lead, and a specialist teacher of SEMH.

Emma has taken on different leadership roles in different parts of the country. Emma’s leads on trauma-informed practice have transformed the lives of so many young people and their families. She is a truly exceptional educational leader and practitioner. Emma is a highly skilled professional who skilfully balances meeting the needs of children and young people while leading strategic developments. She is a reflective practitioner who engages in professional development to ensure her practice is current and based on evidence and research.
