Dr Kirstin Lewis

Dr Kirstin Lewis is a lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London in the Educational Studies Department. She teaches across the BA Education, Culture and Society (of which she is the programme head), PGCE, MA and PhD programmes. Her research centres around how race and social class shape learners' experiences of schooling. 

Kirstin has also worked in Lambeth Local Authority as a Raising Achievement Research Manager, where she co-ordinated various projects which explored the barriers to learning for different community groups, and the strategies that schools use to raise achievement. She was also an advisory teacher for literacy for the Lambeth Education Action Zone and a class teacher in a Lambeth school for ten years.
