Dr Francina Clayton

Dr Francina Clayton is a research officer and project manager
at OxEd and Assessment, a spinout company from the University of Oxford. It was
launched to take the research of Professor Charles Hulme and his team, creators
of the Nuffield Early Language Intervention programme, through to practical
application in schools. OxEd develops educational assessment apps and
interventions which have been shown to improve children’s educational outcomes.
Francina began her career as an undergraduate research
assistant in the University of York’s Centre for Reading and Language, directed
by Professors Charles Hulme and Maggie Snowling, before completing a PhD in
Developmental Science at University College London (UCL).
She has since worked as a postdoctoral research associate at
both UCL and the University of York, focusing on longitudinal predictors of
early literacy and numeracy. Francina has managed large-scale international
research projects and been published widely in high-impact peer-reviewed
scientific journals.
Dr
Clayton remains passionate about improving children’s educational outcomes and is
committed to making a meaningful impact through innovative assessments and
interventions.
