Darren Coxon

Darren Coxon is a senior education professional with a career spanning over 25 years in both UK and international schools. In his current role as Chief Operating Officer of Britus Education, Darren oversees academic operations in nine international schools in the MENA region. He is currently based in Tunisia, where he is also leading the British International School of Tunis, one of the first schools in the world to be fully integrating AI and project-based learning across the school.

His innovative approach to education is evident in his track record, which in 2011 included leading the first 1:1 iPad implementation in a UK 6th form and being part of the first cohort of Apple Professional Development Authorised Trainers. Darren also managed the first phase development of Brighton Colleges in Bangkok and Dubai. These schools balance traditional classrooms with open-plan learning spaces, reflecting his commitment to innovative school design. Darren is Chair of the COBIS ConnectED group into AI and the future of education. He is one of the founding members of the Education 3.0 Council, a newly formed group created to support schools across the world as they look to changing their practice to reflect where schools now need to head if they are to remain relevant into the 21st Century.

Darren is also a prolific writer and speaker on the topic of AI in education. He is currently writing a book on the impact of AI on the future of schools and maintains a popular weekly blog and podcast on the subject. His work has been recognised by his peers, with one of his recent sessions on AI for educational leaders from more than 50 countries being praised as one of the best in communicating AI in a simple, understandable, and useful way.
