Byron Sheffield

Byron Sheffield is centre lead for a project based at Leyton Sixth Form College in East London. The Centres for Excellence in Mathematics project is funded by the DfE for five years in order to improve progress for students to resit their GCSEs in maths.

Byron is involved in building a network of partner colleges, along with twenty other CfEM centre colleges, to share and develop good practice. Byron works alongside teachers to help support and trial new approaches to help with the resit students. This has involved running teacher action research, national and local trials of resources and approaches, delivering face to face and online training sessions and developing the CfEM Legacy Scheme of Learning and lesson resources.

Byron has also worked at six different schools and colleges including 18 years as head of maths at Haverstock Secondary School in Camden.
