Ann Marie Christian

Ann Marie Christian is a UK-based safeguarding practitioner and senior leader in child protection with over 25 years of experience. Since qualifying as a child protection social worker in 1996, she has worked in frontline, school-based, leadership, and consultancy roles across children’s services. She managed a Local Authority Child Protection Team supporting 75 schools and, since becoming an independent consultant in 2010, has provided safeguarding training and advice to a wide range of organisations in the UK and internationally.

Recognised for her expertise in safeguarding, Ann Marie has worked with international schools, universities, governments, charities, and organisations across education, sport, faith, and voluntary sectors. She is passionate about promoting children’s welfare, inclusion, equity, and safer organisational cultures. Her work spans multiple continents, and she is a published writer, speaker, and trainer on safeguarding and child protection. Her achievements include a Highly Commended WinTRADE Award in 2019 and nominations for the NSPCC Child Protection Trainer of the Year award in 2018 and 2019.
