
Adrian Guy
Adrian Guy is an independent school improvement consultant who
has amassed more than 20 years’ experience teaching year groups from nursery
and pre-school through to Year Six. He spent 12 years in senior leadership positions
at various schools, including as headteacher and on secondment as a local authority
consultant headteacher. He has also served as a school governor and chair of an
IEB.
After joining Ofsted as an HMI, Adrian became regional
mathematics lead for the north east, Yorkshire and the Humber. As part of this
role, he led seminars on topics including better mathematics; better English;
work scrutiny; school improvement planning; equalities, diversity and
anti-bullying; school self-evaluation; and assessment and progress in Key Stage
1 and EYFS. He also conducted subject assessments in mathematics, early reading
(phonics) and music.
As well as supporting schools in overall improvement and all
aspects of school review and performance management, Adrian now helps educational
settings to develop their curriculum and subject leadership in light of the new
Ofsted framework. He also holds postgraduate qualifications in school leadership
and management, early years, and arts education.
