New ‘Keeping children safe in education’ guidance has been published and became statutory from 1 September 2023.

The ‘Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework’ and ‘Keeping children safe in education’ both reference the need to keep children safe online. It’s important that children are taught the basics of online safety in order to build a strong foundation as they get older and experience different areas of the online world.

Developed by Heather Cardwell, experienced online safety lead and senior school leader, this course provides you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to embed online safety into the EYFS curriculum in line with statutory and recommended DfE requirements.

Please note: This course consists of learning through video, task completion, and further reading/research. Please consider this when planning and allocating your time. To successfully understand and achieve the objectives of the course, learners are expected to engage in all aspects of the learning process to ensure they can successfully apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in their own settings.
