Certificate in Climate Education and Sustainability for Science Teachers for Secondary Schools

As part of the DfE’s sustainability and climate change strategy and the National Climate Education Action Plan, it’s important that teachers have the appropriate knowledge and skills in climate education so that they have confidence as well as capability to teach about climate change within the science curriculum. 

Developed by subject matter expert, Dr Leigh Hoath, senior professional practice fellow and science education lead, this online training course provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to understand how to teach about climate change and engage pupils in climate education and sustainability in line with DfE guidance in a secondary setting.

To successfully understand and achieve the objectives of the course, learners are expected to engage in all aspects of the learning process to ensure they can successfully apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in their own setting.
