Aim: Developed by vastly experienced senior educational leader Dr Michael Harpham, this course will present and examine various assessment and feedback models which can be used at secondary level. It will also equip you with the knowledge to adjust these approaches for learners with SEND – and to help you embed best practice across your school. 

Description: This course will take you through advanced assessment pedagogy and procedures in secondary schools. It will begin with a brief introduction to assessment before examining best practice around summative and formative assessment. Drawing on research findings throughout, the content also encompasses a profile of different forms of assessment, including peer and self-assessment, as well as different types of feedback. Additionally, it covers assessment and feedback for students with SEND and considers adaptive assessments and reasonable adjustments.
